Kernow Model Rail Centre produced North British Warship, D600 Active from the Shenston Road fleet.

In green livery is D601 Ark Royal resting between duties at Hornsey Road depot.

D600 and D602 (nearest) earning their keep on passenger services, seen at Hornsey Broadway.

BR Swindon Class 42

A Western Region themed gathering at Hornsey Road depot.

The re-work of Mainline Warship class 821 ‘Greyhound’. The loco is pictured with the Bachmann chassis and etched fan grills installed. The EM wheelsets are by Ultrascale, and really look the part next to the re-spaced brake gear. With much improved running qualities, this model should now see more frequent use on Canada Road.

At Shenston Road stabling point is D815 Druid in maroon livery.

On test after re-wheeling 821 Greyhound has just arrived at Morfa Bank with a engineering train for re-marshalling ahead of weekend track works out on the mainline. A track relayer and a winch wagon set are behind the locomotive. In the background the yard pilot, resting for the weekend, sits atop of a rake of empty Presflos from the Blue Circle depot at Aberavon.

A visitor from the Shenston Road fleet - Warship 825 Intrepid (Bachmann model) awaiting its next turn of duty on a dirty and oil stained Road 6.

D826 JUPITER at Hornsey (Bachmann).

D831 Monarch as it was in 1968. Added details include Shawplan grills and extra bufferbeam detailing.

870 Zulu - a modified Bachmann Warship from the Shenston Road fleet seen at Hornsey Bdy.

NBL Class 43

D836 Powerful at Shenston Road (Bachmann).

D838 Rapid at Shenston Road (Bachmann).

D838 Rapid at Shenston Road (Bachmann).

839 Relentless in action.

D841 at Shenston Road.

D844 Spartan weathered to 1968 condition (Bachmann).

D847 Strongbow heading a northbound express to Wolverhampton.

For Newton Abbot Works - D859 was a great challenge to get the weathering correct and this consisted of many different colours to give me the desired effect, this started with a cream white base which was left to dry, then a pink sub base again mixed with cream to tone it down, then various shades of blue, then a final weathering of roof dirt.

I have re-activated 83A and started the journey again, by removing the nameplates from some Warships so that they are totally withdrawn, I will have two individual months I will model in 1971, April and August, this gives me the opportunity to showcase my NBL Warships and North Brits.

Steve Harrod is normally associated with gauge 1 models for his 'Worcester Road' layout, but has spent time on some 4mm scale diesel hydraulics. Here's a Bachmann Warship model of D861 Vigilant in maroon livery, with extra detailing and weathering (Bachmann).

Shenston Road's 861 Vigilant depicted later in life in blue livery.

The early Mainline models were let down by their performance, but after having carried out a lot of detail work, these redundant models were adapted to just rolling shells by Greg Brookes, as depicted in the following shots.
