North British Type 2 - Class 21 & 29 Locomotives

Class 21

From the Shenston Road fleet is D6122, a North British Class 21 captured at Hornsey Road depot.

D6122 and D6110 on test together after the simple conversion. The Dapol model as it stands requires nothing more than a bit of light weathering to complete. The supplied headcode discs are somewhat chunky, so Shawplan etched replacements have been added instead.

Class 29

North British Class 29 6112 in 1968/69 livery. An odd choice by Hornby for a r-t-r model given the limited range and working life of the prototypes. The bodyshell has a good basic shape, but needs quite a lot of work on windows and detailing to capture the character of the original.

D6121 was new to Ipswich shed in the livery modelled just a few months before the end of the 1950s, but within less than a year had been sent north to the Scottish Region.

6129 had been repainted blue, but again is heavily workstained.

A North British built class 29 - a modified and detailed Hornby class 29 by Trevor Hale.

6114 is a Dapol model from the Shenston Road fleet.
