As well as watching the trains pass through this North London setting, there have been
a few lineside additions and extra detailing work taking place.

A shunt limit structure has been built by Paul James and planted on the Down East London
track, used primarily for light engine movements coming off shed. In the background is a
LNER style concrete lineside hut under construction (Roxey product). The permanent way gang
have also been been depositing new sleepers at the lineside in preparation for track repair work.

Other detail work continues around the depot area with the ends of the stabling sidings littered
with redundant K2 notes, drinks cans, temporary restriction and weekly notices discarded
from the cabs of locomotives.

The depot building now has road numbers and a clock added, along with other small items of
ground litter often found where locomotives were stabled.

on a dirty and oil stained Road 6.

Also stabled at the depot on this particular visit is a staff and tool van of LMS origin,
modified and detailed by Paul.

Following on from last month, LED lighting has now been fitted to the garage which highlights
the interior detail.
Early February brought the Stafford show, where Ian Manderson’s atmospheric ‘Hartburn’
appeared, and I helped with operating. Ex-LNER J27 ‘65842’ shunts in the loop in this first scene.

Classmate ‘65819’, complete with snowplough, pauses briefly by the station in a second view.

Towards the end of February ‘Canada Street’ attended the Lincoln club show at Newark
showground. USA tank ‘30071’ is pictured resting amongst some vans within the exchange
sidings during the Saturday.

The new early Class 04 is making good progress, and is shown after fitting of the handrail details.

A new project that came from discussions over a few beers at the Pontefract show in January is
an ex-LMS Class 11 adapted from the Hornby Class 08 model. The modified cab is pictured at an early stage.

New for this show was a Leyland FG crewbus finished in British Rail yellow. Adapted from
the Base Toys model, it has been motorised with two channel radio control, and proved a
popular attraction as it bumbled along the dock road and onto the dockside - expertly driven by Craig.

The crewbus is pictured again during conversion. Assisted on the electronic side by a long-time
friend, it even proved possible to retain the internal detail behind the new flush glazing.
