Vauxhall Omega 2.5 V6 CDX Manual mini-Facelift Saloon

Owned 2000 to 2002

In the year 2000 I bought my first Vauxhall Omega 2.5 V6 CDX (4 door saloon in red) with manual gearbox - a two year old 'S' registration. I've never been small by any measure, so it was important to buy something reasonably large and comfortable, especially with the high volume of miles I was clocking up each year. The Omega fitted my requirements and was a lot more comfortable and ecconomical than the previous 3.9 litre mode of transport.

The car always ran like a dream, and nothing ever went wrong with it apart from the climate control which would sometimes have a mind of its own, and supply only freezing cold air or maximum heat! To be honest I never took much interest in the mechanics of the car, and didn't go any further than the oil cap and water bottle to top things up periodically. Most would be horrified to know it never had a cambelt change during my ownership with well over 100k on the clock when I sold it on.

A change of direction in 2002 required an estate car, so the red CDX saloon was traded in.
